[CalendarX-users] Odd Behavior for October 31

Am I seeing things, or is something strange happening on my CalendarX
installation for October 31? I have 2 Oct 31 dates on the calendar! How do I
get rid of it? You can see it at http://www.azheatwavesoftball.com - click
on the Calendar tab and jump to October.

If I remove the event on Oct 31, I still have 2 Oct 31 boxes....Nov is
shifted over, but the highlights for each cell go to the right cell. This is
wierd! Lupa.....are you playing tricks on us for an early Halloween
spoof????

Thanks!

Mark

Hi Mark,

1. Wow. Looks bad for the home team, double practices on
Halloween/Halloween. Frankly I have never seen this happen before, so I
have no idea what's causing it. In fact, I just checked a paper calendar
and indeed there is only 1 Oct 31st this year, so it very likely is a bug in
CalendarX... I don't think I can blame any third party libraries or anybody
else for this one. Fortunately November works fine (I mean, you can see the
dates properly there.

The good news is that it's ONLY on your calendar :-) I wrote this bug
especially for you. Actually, this seems to be true... I just searched
"powered by calendarx" in google and went to the first 10 or so calendarx
instances I could find and not a single one shows this bug!

More importantly to me, I don't see it with the current (trunk, svn)
codebase test running in Plone 4 (and widely used on Plone 3 sites). Whew.

My question/suggestion is to ask What CalendarX version are you running?
And if it's not very up to date, just go ahead and update it!

2. on your previous request about iCal importing, there was this relevant
email exchange between you me and Stephan, with his final reply, back in
June:

Hello Lupa, Hello Marc,

I think I have found a good solution for my purpose.
I'm using two different calendar products concurrently:

* CalendarX: far more display features
* Plone4ArtistsCalendar (Plone 3.0 bundle):
poor display features, but ical/val-Import/Export for all events at once

When I want to export/import my events in ical format I switch to
Plone4ArtistsCalendar, for the rest I use CalendarX :-)

It's seems to be a good solution, most other ical Plone products
seem to be outdated (only for Plone2 etc).

Thank you for your help !

Lupa,

Thanks for your reply! I am running CalendarX 0.6.6(stable) 2006-01-03 on
Plone 2.5.5. I can't move to 3.0 yet as I need a couple of products that are
not Plone 3 ready. One of them is mine, so .....well, I guess I have to
light a fire under the developer to get the work done. I have actually
started the conversion, but other projects keep getting in the way.

So, only my calendar.....how wonderful. Well, I guess I will be gaining a
few extra pounds from all that extra candy on my very own and very special
extra Halloween!

I forgot all about our earlier conversation about iCal....are you sure it
was me, or is this another pre-Halooween gag?? ;-)

Cheers!

Mark
